Production Design & Costume - Short Film
Overview
For the short film Dead End, I took on the role of production designer, shaping the film’s eerie-yet-comedic atmosphere. The story follows a group of couples who travel upstate after one of them has recently suffered the tragic loss of a partner. In an attempt to reconnect and process their grief, they decide to hold a séance — a choice that spirals into a mix of absurdity and hilarity, fueled by the presence of well-known comedians who bring the offbeat narrative to life.
To capture the “spooky sleepover” energy, I crafted a seance-inspired environment filled with moody lighting, eclectic props, and playful yet haunting details. I also incorporated practical effects to heighten the surreal moments, grounding the comedy in a tactile, atmospheric world. The design balanced wackiness with a sense of intimacy, creating a visual backdrop that amplified both the humor and the heart of the story.
The short will be released soon, and I look forward to sharing the final product.
