Overview

In the short film "Heatwave," I had the opportunity to be the production designer and costume designer, shaping a tense atmosphere that mirrors the intensity of a couple's passionate fight during a sweltering summer.

Collaborating closely with the director and director of photography, we established an environment that amplifies the emotional stakes of the narrative. I incorporated details that reflect the oppressive heat, from the choice of color palettes to the texture of fabrics worn by the characters. A key element of the design involved practical special effects; I applied fake sweat to enhance the realism and discomfort of the heatwave, further immersing the audience in the story. The end result is a visceral experience that captures both the discomfort of a blistering summer day and the heat of a relationship on the brink.
